Announcing an exciting new joint venture between the FIEC and WEST. The Independent Ministry Training Award will allow the creation of two fully funded scholarships from September 2013. The intention is to offer these to two men from FIEC affiliated churches who will have their course fees and accommodation costs fully covered whilst studying at WEST.
The award is a major new joint initiative between WEST and FIEC, who are delighted to invite applications for two full scholarships to be awarded in September 2013. They are…
The BA(Hons)/ BD Degree Award (3 years)
The Binary Award (Graduate Diploma and MA in 2 years)
Both awards will cover all tuition and residential fees for the duration of the respective courses, as well as a local church placement and training package out of term time.
The successful candidate for The BA (Hons) /BD Degree Award will undertake full-time, campus-based study over three years. The successful candidate for The Binary Course Award will already possess a good honours degree in a non-theological subject, and have perhaps completed a training programme like Prepared for Service, the Cornhill Training Course or Porterbrook Seminary. He would typically have benefited from a church apprenticeship scheme and attendance at FIEC’s The Hub Conference. The Binary Course lasts two years, and leads to a Graduate Diploma and an MA in Contemporary Church Leadership.
If you think you qualify for the award please tick the check box in the application form when you apply online for either of the two programmes described. See the PDF below for details:

Through the generosity of our new Partner, SaRang Community Church, Seoul, South Korea, we are now in a position to offer £2,000 scholarships, renewable annually, to full-time, campus-based students* who are prepared to commit to serving individually-designated, evangelical church congregations in Wales while they are studying at WEST. The precise terms of each placement will be agreed between the School and the congregation concerned, and will be strictly limited and monitored in order to ensure that students give the necessary priority to academic study.
We are also extremely pleased to announce that other (UK-based) sponsors are willing to match these scholarship awards in the case of full-time, campus-based students who are contracted to return for weekends during semesters to home churches elsewhere in Britain or Ireland.
These scholarships will bring a top-flight theological education and ministry training within the reach of many for whom the cost was previously prohibitive. For the first time it will be possible to study theology full-time at WEST more cheaply than in the vast majority of state-funded universities.
For information on applying for the scholarship or other related queries, please contact info@west.org.uk.
*Applies to those students registered for full-time, campus-based Cert HE, Dip HE, BA orGDipawards and to those registered for MA or MTh degrees as the second part of The Binary Course. Full details of these programmes are available elsewhere on this website.
Funds have been given to WEST for students who are in particular financial difficulty. WEST bursaries contribute towards student fees and maintenance. If you believe you qualify for assistance in this way, please email our Finance Officer kevingreen@west.org.uk or enquire at interview.
