Conference Facilities
Bryntirion House, the home of the Wales Evangelical School of Theology, is a large attractive country house with its own grounds located on the outskirts of Bridgend in Mid-Glamorgan, Wales.
Ideal conference venue
Just off the M4, near to the coast and numerous tourist attractions, Bryntirion House is an ideal venue for conferences, house-parties and church holidays. The cities of Cardiff and Swansea, the beautiful Gower beaches and the Brecon Beacons National Park are all within an hour's drive. Porthcawl and Ogmore-by-Sea beaches are only a 10-minute drive away. The WEST conference centre is available for use during college summer vacation.
Residential accommodation for conferences and other groups comprises up to 34 bedrooms in two areas, the majority of which are double rooms. All of the bedrooms are furnished and all have washbasins. Two of the double rooms have en-suite facilities. Each accommodation area has ample toilet and shower facilities.
Bedding, comprising of sheets, pillow cases and duvet covers are provided by WEST, but conference delegates must bring their own towels etc.
On the ground floor of the main house, there are two lounges / conference rooms, a dining room and a tea-making room. The dining room can seat 72 people. If required and arranged in advance, there are on the upper floor two additional lounges as well as a number of lecture or seminar rooms.
Accessibility of the conference centre
All of the ground floor of the WEST conference centre is accessible for disabled guests, including three bedrooms specifically equipped for disabled use. Toilet and shower facilities suitable for disabled guests are provided adjacent to these three bedrooms.
