Christian Community
Christian community at WEST
The Lord has blessed the College each year with a loving and united community of students and staff. Actually, this is a very strong feature of WEST life and it needs to be experienced in order to be appreciated.
Strong bonds of friendship are forged between students, and the College is large enough to be varied and stimulating and yet small enough to be an intimate and caring family.
Distance learning at WEST
This is also true for students studying at a distance. Personal contact between students is encouraged as well as between an individual student and the College. Weekly newsletters are emailed to all students. Tutorial support and pastoral help are provided for those at a distance; through brief and occasional residential teaching periods on campus, distance learners integrate with each other as well as staff and enjoy community life.
On campus, staff and students mix freely in corridors or over coffee-breaks and communal lunches.
Our College community is:
International: currently we have 160 students from 20 different countries with 70% from the UK. This is reflected in an interesting and enriching community life.
Interdenominational: students from varied Protestant denominations worldwide learn from one another and promote mutual understanding and respect. There are lively discussions too!
Integrative: whatever the background, culture, age, giftings, marital status or level of study, students blend together in the College community and learn to study, pray and relax together as well as care for one another.
