Application Process for DMin

To apply for the DMin please:

  • email pgadmissions@west.org.uk to request an application form. (You will need to ensure that we receive all relevant supporting documentation including references and transcripts/certificates (see below)).

Supporting Documentation

Transcripts/Certificates
Original transcripts or certificates of your previous study must be submitted as part of the application process to show that you meet the entry requirements.  This includes proof of English ability if English is not your first language (see the Admissions page for further details regarding English language requirements). If you are applying on the basis of relevant experience you should nevertheless enclose transcripts/certificates for any previous studies that are relevant to your application, though they do not meet the academic entry requirements. This includes non-accredited study in theology or a related subject, undergraduate and postgraduate study in a subject other than theology or a related subject, and undergraduate study in theology or a related subject which led to an award at a lower level than a 2:1 bachelor’s degree. We may also contact you on receipt of your application to ask for any other information not included in the list above which we feel is relevant.

To submit your transcripts/certificates you must either:

  • scan and email your transcripts/certificates to pgadmissions@west.org.uk at the point at which you apply and then subsequently post the originals to WEST (marked 'Postgraduate Admissions') or bring the originals when you attend WEST for interview.  An offer of a place cannot be made until we have seen the originals.  If you are not required to attend WEST in person for interview you should ensure that the originals are received promptly by post.
  • post the originals directly to WEST at the time of your application (marked 'Postgraduate Admissions')

References
Please download the Church/Personal Friend reference form and supply it to the two referees that you have nominated in this capacity on your application form.  (Please note that this reference form should not be used for your Academic/Employer referee.)  You should ask them to return it directly to WEST in one of the following two ways:

  • by post to WEST, marked 'Postgraduate Admissions'
  • by email to pgadmissions@west.org.uk.  If it is returned by email it can only be accepted if it comes from an email address that is clearly identifiable as belonging to the referee, otherwise it cannot be accepted.

Please ask your nominated Academic/Employer referee to supply a letter of reference directly to WEST.  The referee should comment on your suitability for a postgraduate programme and on your academic work (if an academic referee) or your academic ability (if an employer).  The referee should supply the reference on letterheaded paper and/or stamp it with an institutional/company stamp.  You should ask them to send the reference form to WEST in one of the following two ways:

  • by post to WEST, marked 'Postgraduate Admissions'
  • scanned and sent by email to pgadmissions@west.org.uk.  If the reference is sent by email it can only be accepted if it comes from an email address belonging to the academic institution or company.

 Application Fee

The application fee is stated on the application form.  To pay the fee you should either:

  • enclose a cheque for the correct amount made out to 'WEST'
  • pay online

Please note that your application will not be complete and will not begin to be processed until all supporting documentation has been received and the application fee has been received.  If you have any queries about the process please contact pgadmissions@west.org.uk.
